Multi-county or regional Leagues are showing promise – not only for those who want to form new Leagues in rural Texas but for Leagues that have an urban focus but include (or could include) surrounding areas that feel more rural. Tonight, we will hear what the Presidents of two multi-county Leagues are learning about building connections in multiple counties, configuring an effective leadership team, and doing both regional and hyper-local work. We’ll hear about what is working, what is challenging, and what difference these Leagues are making (or can see on the horizon) in their rural communities.
Meeting Facilitator: Meg Scott Johnson (LWVTX Services to Local Leagues Committee Member)
Panelists: Janice Zitelman (President, LWV Hill Country, Texas)
Janis Richardson (President, LWV South Central Texas) The Texas League Rural Caucus meets every other month via Zoom to learn about issues impacting rural Texas and what we're learning about forming, growing and sustaining League's in Texas' rural areas. All are welcome to attend!
