The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas is hosting four Day of Action events on August 8. In Columbus, stop by anytime between 11 am and 1 pm at the Nesbitt Library to check or update your voter registration, try out a mock election on the same voting machines you'll use on Election Day, and ask us anything — Colorado County Elections Administrator Rebecca LaCourse and League volunteers will be happy to help with ID rules, where and when to vote, vote-by-mail, curbside voting, and more. Bring the kids along, too — they can take part in their own mock election, voting for their favorite Texas animal! We'll also be celebrating the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 — join us in honoring that legacy!
