between dates. Click on the event to view more information, including the event description, times,
location, fees and any rules regarding attendance; you can also register for events from this screen.

This is a Zoom meeting of LWVSCTX members who expressed interest in participating in our new Local News & Democracy initiative. We will share a plan for the first stage of the initiative and discuss options for moving forward.
The League of Women Voters of Texas is excited to host presenter Numa Dhamani, Adjust Professor at Georgetown University, for a one-hour webinar to discuss Digital Literacy for Democracy.
Ms Dhamani‘s presentation will cover:
Common tactics used to spread false narratives during election periods, various factors that make populations vulnerable to these tactics, and strategies and tools that help citizens recognize and challenge misleading or false information.

Join us for a content review of our local newspapers, which is part of the information-gathering phase of our Local News & Democracy project. This will be a fun afternoon with a party atmosphere as we work in teams to review 4 to 6 weeks of our local newspapers to learn about content priorities and depth of coverage in various categories.
Blinn College, Schulenburg Campus
Our League will be offering voter registration/information at Blinn College in Schulenburg on National Voter Registration Day. We will need volunteers for this activity. Sign up to volunteer on the Volunteering page, found under the "Get Involved" tab on our website menu.

The Texas League Rural Caucus is hosting a Zoom Program on the Changing Face of Texas, featuring Monica Cruz, Ph.D., from the Texas Demographic Center. Dr. Cruz will present an overview of demographic trends in Texas, focusing on how population changes will impact rural Texas in the future. All are welcome to attend.
