From: Janis Richardson/LWV South Central Texas

League of Women Voters of South Central Texas
PO Box 78, Hallettsville, TX 77964

Our League - like all League of Women Voters groups - is nonpartisan, meaning that we neither support nor oppose candidates or political parties at any level of government.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:

Women Making History 2024 Prep Day
Saturday, March 9 - 1 pm
Senglemann Hall (531 N. Main St) in Schulenburg

Satiurday is set-up day for our March 10 Women Making History event at Senglemann Hall. We need volunteers to help get the upstairs space at Senglemann Hall event ready. We'll be doing some basic cleaning, light-duty furniture moving, decorating, and tech testing that afternoon. Wear your grubby clothes and head to Senglemann Hall on Saturday to pitch in and help us be ready for a memorable day on Sunday.

Press On,  My Sisters: ERA Then & Now
We need more readers!

Our readers theater production on the ERA - Press On, My Sisters - that debuted last August at Fayettevile's Red & White Gallery for Women's Equality Day - is a hit! We have been asked to offer Press On performances by a number of groups and need more readers to join the cast. We want to share the fun work of reading and avoid over-burdening the original cast members. Readers are assigned a part in the script and read. No acting experience is required. If you are interested in this opportunity, contact Elota Patton (email or text/phone @ 512-658-9163) for more information.

Local Journalism & Democracy Task Force

We are looking for four to five people to review information from the League world and elsewhere on local journalism and democracy, and do some brainstorming about what our League could do in the coming year to shine light on this issue in our South Central Texas area. This is a short-term task force that will be fun and interesting for those who have passion for this topic. This task force will be asked to share some possibilities for us to cosnider at our League's Annual Meeting on May 19. Please contact Janis Richardon (email or text/phone @ 361-772-3228) if you are interested in being part of this task force.
